Dear Brothers,
I write to you today with more good news about Alpha and to thank you for your support of our Annual Fund. A list of donors for the current fraternal year, which ends August 31st, can be found below. This is another way of thanking you for your support.
As you will read in the current issue of the AlphaBet, our efforts continue to be rewarded. Those efforts include researching and enhancing Alpha's history, updating our membership list, improved AlphaBet and ever expanding content on our website, and we could not have done it without your support, thank you. Our continued efforts to reach Alpha Alumni has resulted in record level of good addresses and allowed us to make tremendous progress towards rebuilding our alumni association and stabilizing the house.
In fact our increased alumni participation and involvement is paying dividends with our collegiate men as they initiated 15 new brothers this year. Much thanks goes to our dedicated volunteers who give countless hours advising and mentoring these young men and future leaders. I know they appreciate your support as well.
But there is more to do, so I am asking you to ask your fellow brothers who are not listed below to support our Alpha Chapter with a gift to match your current giving level. Of course, if you can make an additional gift this year it would be much appreciated.
How will their donation help? In addition to funding continued alumni communications, the bulk of the funds raised this summer will be saved until we have sufficient funds to do complete renovations of the shower facilities. Each shower facility will cost approximately $20,000 and we have two facilities in the house that will need to be addressed. Assistance today will help ensure that we are able to address this important issue in a timely manner and provide another important tool in recruiting new men and having them live in a competitive housing environment.
We invite you to visit us. Alpha Chapter's work week is August 22nd – 30th (Alumni 28th – 30th) and our fall alumni event will be on October 2nd-4th in conjunction with RPI's homecoming. And go ahead and put it on your calendar, our 6294 celebration will be held April 24, 2010. Our most recent 6294 dinner was a great success and you can read more about it in this issue as well.
